RillGrow 1 Soil Erosion Model

 

RillGrow 1 was the first, very simple, attempt at constructing a model for rill initiation and development using these concepts. It uses data on initial microtopography to generate realistic rill patterns; however, it does not operate within a true time domain.

The model and some results are described in Favis-Mortlock (1996; 1998) and Favis-Mortlock et al. (1998a), and in a poster paper which is available here.

RillGrow 1 can be downloaded here. The zipfile includes a Windows™ 32-bit executable file, C++ source code, and sample data (including microtopography for a 2.2 m x 2.2 m area).
